PiggyBack Forklifts General Building Materials

The Concept

The Princeton PiggyBack Delivery System is a proven method for job site delivery. It has revolutionized customer service and delivery efficiency throughout the US building supply industry. Historically, materials were delivered to the edge of a site by a truck-mounted crane, dump bed or simply unloaded by hand. The customer, or your stocking crew, then had to move the materials to where the work was being done. The truck-mounted forklift enables your driver to deliver materials wherever your customer or crew wants them – fast, safe over even the roughest ground. A PiggyBack also comes in handy for pickups or correcting misplacement of products on the job site. It will also save money by reducing delivery related product damage. Princeton's truck-mounted forklifts are available in many different models and can be mounted behind almost any truck or trailer.

A wide range of available lift heights, capacities up to 8,000 lbs and other features allow the Princeton unit to be configured to your exact delivery requirements.

If you currently use towed or trailer carried forklifts, you already recognize the benefits of having a portable unloading unit with your delivery vehicle. The Princeton PiggyBack Delivery System provides all these benefits in a highly efficient package that eliminates the complications of towed vehicles. Princeton also offers a low profile unit designed for deliveries in height restricted areas.

The Machine

Princeton offers four models, tailored towards the demanding needs of the building supply industry.

Z2-3

The 4,500lb capacity Z2-3 is designed for lighter weight and medium duty terrain applications. It can be mounted on many single axle trucks and is equipped with a scissors reach system. It's three wheel drive, traction control system and Anti Stall Drive System make it a good choice for many building material delivery applications.

PB50

The 5,000lb capacity PB50 is the heavy duty unit for the building supply industry. It's rugged design, center seating and optional double reach made it the most popular model in the industry. It offers high horsepower, excellent ground clearance and a flip-of-the-switch traction control system to tackle the roughest job sites.

PB80

The 8,000 lb capacity PB65 is designed for those needing to handle heavier or more product at the same time. Both the PB50 and PB80 offer center seating. This provides your operator with a clear view of not only the load but also both front tires. This enables the operator to accurately position the load anywhere on the job site and minimize the chance of running over critical objects.

4 Way

The "4 Way" offers the most versatility in truck-mounted forklifts. It has the lift capacity and power of a PB50, but adds four directional steering. With the flip of a switch, this unit turns into a portable, side loading, rough terrain forklift. This combination enables your driver to deliver almost anywhere on the job site, even the tightest places. When delivering long loads on lots and driveways with trees or other obstacles, the Princeton 4 Way is the solution. A modified E series unit is available as a low profile alternative for restricted height deliveries.

All Princeton units exceed ANSI stability standards for rough terrain forklifts.

Double Reach

The PBX is the first unit in the industry to be equipped with the "Double Reach" feature. This unique feature, which adds an extending scissors reach system to the standard moving mast, doubles the length of the PBX's reach across the bed. This combined with a counter weight package enables your driver to unload an entire truck or trailer from one side even from positions where tanks or tandems are located.
